AKD Sahotharaya’s Oath Taking Ceremony..

The President of the country arrived at the Presidential Secretariat to take his oath of office, accompanied only by members of his party.

He arrived with just four ordinary vehicles.

There was no helicopter,
no gun salute,
no grand ceremonies,
no military honor guards,
no red carpet. School children did not have to stand in the scorching sun singing the national anthem until their feet ached.
The general public was not brought out to greet him,
there was no military gun salute.

This was a remarkable act, the change we as citizens have been longing for.
