Gypsum Close Recycling Centre in Leicester, located at LE4 9AB, is a city council-run facility providing a comprehensive range of recycling services. Open daily from 8am to 8pm between April and October, and from 8am to 6pm between November and March, it remains closed only on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

Residents can dispose of various household waste items, including car and household batteries, bicycles, books, cans, cardboard, clothes and shoes, cooking oil, dry mixed recycling, electrical equipment, fluorescent tubes, furniture, garden waste, gas bottles, glass, metal, paint, paper, plastic bottles, soil/hardcore, used engine oil, white goods, and wood. The site does not accept asbestos or chemicals; these items are only accepted at Freemen’s Common Recycling Centre.

Gypsum Close Recycling Centre is accessible by car, van, pickup, or on foot using marked walkways. Vehicles larger than a car or with trailers longer than 1.4 meters require a permit to use the site. The centre also offers a trade waste facility for businesses.
